AT A GLANCE

Learning to truly calm and quiet our mind and relax our body, is extremely challenging for many. If we allow the incessant chatter of our mind to persist, it often leads to emotional states of worry, fear, anxiousness, and depression. All states or ways of being that disrupt our peace and ease, and move us further away from states that support rest, recovery, and regeneration.

This Lab has been developed to assist you in building on your ability to experience peace, ease and harmony, and free you to spend more time in these nourishing, restorative states. It brings together resources from several Labs and guides you on how to explore them and advance your skillset for creating more peace, ease, and harmony in your life.
HEALTH SCENE INVESTIGATION
  • How frequently do you pause through your day and take note of how peaceful and at ease you feel?
  • Do you generally feel in harmony with your environment and company?
  • Do you realize that when you are in rushed, more aroused, and anxious states, that you don’t respond to others the same way, and are more inclined to “turn them off”?
  • Do you understand how a state of peace and ease has a positive influence on your food choices, eating habits, digestion, sleep and cognitive function?
HYPOTHESIS

It’s a good feeling to be able to get fired up when situations call for it, yet too many have become habituated to spending large portions of their day in states that are too stimulated for their own good. Over stimulated, “sympathetic dominant” states that are prolonged, can interfere with metabolic processes that require a better balance with our parasympathetic “rest, digest and restore” nervous system.

Spending too much time in states of arousal disrupts our natural, healthy hormonal rhythms, drains our vitality and impairs our mental and physical functions. By improving your awareness of your state and learning to swiftly create periods of peace and ease, where and when appropriate, is a skill that will serve you, your relationships, and career very well.
