AT A GLANCE

Everyone knows laughter is good for us, yet too few have a solid understanding of its many benefits. Fewer still use that knowledge consistently to improve their vitality and quality of life. Our intention with this Lab is to change this, and to bring your awareness to this remarkable aspect of life and support you in making a habit of experiencing more laughter in your life.

Laughter’s benefits are far-ranging. Laughter can decrease stress, increase happiness, relieve pain, and improve our natural immunity. In fact, laughter, sex, and physical exercises have very similar effects on our biochemistry, mood, and general health. Laughter is the fastest, and often the most convenient, way to “let off steam” and “reset and reboot” our miraculous brain and operating system. It is truly health and life changing when utilized effectively.
HEALTH SCENE INVESTIGATION
  • Do you think you laugh a lot? Have you counted how many times you laugh in your average day?
  • When others around you laugh, do you find yourself laughing with them?
  • How do you stack up to the number of laughs the average child gets? Healthy children may laugh as much as 400 times per day, yet adults laugh only 15 times per day on average. No wonder we like to hang out with kids!
  • What might change for the better in your life if you were to pay attention to what makes you laugh and make a habit of these experiences?
HYPOTHESIS

With laughter, more is indeed better. Laughter is as close to a cure-all as science has found. We all know this from simply paying attention to how we feel during and after a good bout of laughter. Listen to what your head and heart tell you when we state that: “You will feel better and function better from experiencing more laughter, more frequently.” We know you agree, yet it’s unlikely that you have prioritized understanding what makes you laugh and made a habit of engaging these activities.

This Lab provides you with an excellent opportunity to do so. Give it the attention it deserves, and you will find yourself feeling and functioning better – a lot better. It’s not uncommon to have lingering signs and symptoms resolve when one makes laughter a frequent habit.
